Description
The Maison de la Nature de l'Ile d'Oléron is dedicated to the knowledge and respect of biodiversity as part of the protection of nature and the environment. Its main aim is to raise awareness of the need for eco-citizen action to protect our natural heritage. Several discovery activities are offered in the Maison de la Nature and outdoors:
- A Botanic'game investigation game to discover local flora and their health benefits or dangers: find a plant that has poisoned someone.
- Various manual workshops: driftwood mobile, dream catcher, scrapbooking, basketry, creative workshops for children...
- Ostreo game, a self-guided investigation game in the port of Château d'Oléron.
- Family or individual nature outings with nature guides to discover the marine environment, the forest, the dunes, wild plants and remarkable protected sites in Oléron;
- family treasure hunts on several emblematic natural sites, with a road book on loan for the duration of the investigation;
- nature escapades for older children;
- nature workshops introducing aromatherapy and phytotherapy, and making your own cosmetics;
- discovery classes on standard or customized programs, with our specialized "marine environment for sustainable development" animator.
New for 2025: New treasure hunt at the Citadelle du Château d'Oléron "Cita Pirate Game".
