Nature Outing in the Landes de Cadeuil
Dates & opening times
Description
The Landes de Cadeuil Natura 2000 site is a delicate mosaic of forest habitats, wetlands, and heathlands of varying dryness, all situated on soil rich in siliceous sand.
These habitats—10 of which are protected under the Natura 2000 program—are home to a wealth of biodiversity, including 120 protected species such as the extremely rare Siberian iris, the elegant Montagu’s harrier, and the elusive European otter.
To help the public discover this natural area and learn about efforts to preserve it, the Natura 2000 department of the Marennes Basin Community of Communes is offering a field trip co-hosted with the Nature Environnement 17 association.
