Dates & opening times
Description
The Fort-Royer site is part of the Moëze-Oléron Nature Reserve. This reserve on the Ile d'Oléron starts south of Boyardville (on the south side of the La Perrotine channel), as far as Château d'Oléron, covering 14km of classified coastline.
This vast protected area gives the reserve a great diversity of environments. The mudflats, salt meadows and former salt marshes are home to tens of thousands of breeding and migrating birds every year. A paradise for red-breasted godwits, sandpipers and pintails, you can also observe white spoonbills, curlews and numerous passerines... On the site, reserve regulations apply. Dogs are not allowed on the site. The 2 to 2.5-hour tour must be booked in advance with the Fort Royer oyster and nature site. Location to be communicated upon reservation.
