Visions of Africa: A Literary Event with Author Zineb Mekouar
Dates & opening times
Description
As part of the 17th edition of the Visions d'Afrique festival, Médi@tlantique is pleased to welcome Zineb Mekouar, a Franco-Moroccan writer, on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Having made her debut with her first novel, *La Poule et son cumin*—a finalist for the Prix Goncourt for a First Novel—and having solidified her reputation with *Souviens-toi des abeilles*, Zineb Mekouar skillfully explores family ties, memory, and the passing down of traditions.
The event will be moderated by Bernard Magnier, director of the “Lettres africaines” series at Actes Sud and a renowned specialist in African literature. This discussion will offer an opportunity to learn about the author’s career, her literary world, and the themes that run through her work.
Free admission.
