Description
The “Les Lasses Marennaises” association, “Le Sel en Seudre,” and AMAP invite you to experience a salt delivery by sea on September 27.
The salt barges will depart from the salt marshes with a cargo of salt and arrive at the port of La Cayenne (at the end of the Marennes channel) starting at 5:00 p.m. An event featuring the salt delivery and sale will be held in the southwest section of the La Cayenne parking lot.
Signs will illustrate the history of salt production, highlighting the dried cod fishing activities that took place from the Seudre salt marshes to the coasts of Acadia in the 17th century.
