Saint-Denis d'Oléron is the northernmost commune of the island of Oléron. With a capacity of 750 boats, it has the largest marina on the island. Nearby is the beach of La Boirie with its many colourful beach huts, an ideal swimming spot for families.

With the aim of giving greater visibility to the Marennes Oléron area, the webcams of Les Huttes, La Cotinière and the Chassiron lighthouse were co-financed by the European Union with the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Communauté de communes de l'Île d'Oléron. The webcams of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains and Saint-Denis d'Oléron were co-financed as part of the New Territorial Tourist Organisation (NOTT) project set up by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
