The sustainable tourism forum

Sustainable tourism is a form of tourism that best respects the environmental, social, and economic challenges facing the region and its residents. In 2021, the island of Oléron and the Marennes Basin began exploring a new tourism development plan.
It was adopted in 2023 and highlights the commitment to moving toward the development of sustainable tourism centered on four main pillars:
- Environmentally friendly tourism
- A focus on spreading out visitor numbers and ensuring the region thrives year-round
- Respectful of local culture and authenticity
- For everyone and with everyone
The Sustainable Tourism Forum is held annually in November. During this forum, which is open to members of the Tourism Bureau, several speakers from various professional backgrounds take the stage to address environmental and social issues through a variety of formats, including conferences, roundtables, and theatrical performances...
During breaks, participants also have the opportunity to talk with various organizations that have come specifically to present their initiatives.
The goal: to enable the participating organizations to explore these topics, provide them with ideas and solutions to address their specific challenges, and help them network...
For this sixth edition, the Sustainable Tourism Forum will take place on the morning of Thursday, November 5, and will conclude with a casual lunch.
Two registration options are available:
- Forum attendance without lunch: free
- Attendance at the forum and lunch: 10 euros
