Visite de la Criée de la Cotinière

With a fleet of about 100 small-scale fishing boats, the fishing port of La Cotinière is ranked as the top port in Charente-Maritime. Each year, more than 90 species of fish and shellfish are landed here, primarily

high-value species.



During the tour, your guide will highlight all the features that make La Cotinière a port in constant evolution. You’ll then enter the auction hall for an exclusive view of the auctions, where freshly landed fish, shellfish, and mollusks are traded!

Tickets are available online or in person at various visitor centers throughout the Marennes-Oléron region.



How to find the guide?

Across from the “Comptoir de la Mer” store, turn left (pedestrian access only), follow the paved road, and pass the roundabout with an anchor. Ignore the “No Public Access” signs and go through the rising gate. Continue to the bottom of the stairs. Your guide, wearing an ID badge, will be waiting for you there.



Where to park?



- Comptoir de la Mer parking lot—No time limit during the off-season; blue zone from June 15 to September 30 (including 2 hours free). Closest parking lot for harbor tours (allow 5 minutes to walk to the meeting point)



- Quai René Delouteau Parking Lot (Located next to the chapel, on the site of the former fish market). Parking is metered from March 20 to November 11. Allow 15 minutes to walk to the meeting point for tours.



- Free grassy parking lot

This parking lot is located at the corner of Route des Mourauds and Rue du Colombier. Allow 15 minutes to walk to the meeting point for the tours.



The tour is partially outdoors; please bring appropriate clothing and accessories for sun or rain, as well as a bottle of water. Bicycles are not permitted in the port area. A bike parking area is located on the left just before the rising gate leading down to the port.

The tour is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
