Agricultural Days
Dates & opening times
Description
Farmers on Île d’Oléron are joining forces with the Community of Communes for the Île d’Oléron Agricultural Days, a free event open to all that will allow visitors to (re)discover the region’s agricultural products and, above all, to get to know the people behind them—our farmers. A festive and educational weekend:
- Friday, September 4, in La Brée-les-Bains, at 6 p.m.: Opening Night of the Agricultural Days
Immerse yourself in a unique artistic experience with Bilout, who will guide you through a theatrical walking tour around the Moulin de La Brée.
After the performance, a social gathering will be held to discuss Oléron’s agriculture over drinks. GEDAR Oléron will present a local experiment in grain farming and screen a film about island agriculture.
Extend your evening at the foot of the mill with music and a picnic dinner.
Walking tour open to all ages; duration: 1 hour.
Free. No reservation required.
- Saturday, September 5 - Open Farms: Vegetable farmers, livestock breeders, winemakers, and producers of salt, mushrooms, and artisanal ice cream will open the doors to their farms to share their daily lives with the public.
No registration required; visits are self-guided and suitable for all ages.
- Sunday, September 6 - Saint-Turjan Onion Festival, at the Salle du Gallion in Saint-Trojan-les-Bains, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The iconic local onion will take center stage at a gourmet market featuring culinary demonstrations, local producers, and a festive atmosphere.
On-site dining (picnic-style), music, tastings, and a great time are guaranteed!
