Golf d'Oléron
Dates & opening times
Description
This is one of the very few golf courses in France where the seafront is part of the playing field. The Golf d'Oléron faces the ocean for around 2 km, between Boyardville and the Chenal d'Arceau. It collects and recycles wastewater from the surrounding communes for watering purposes, in compliance with ecological regulations.
Created in 1987 by architect Olivier Brisson, this links-style course, which is fully integrated into the environment, is a 100% natural golf course. No earthworks were involved in the construction of this facility. The courses feature numerous water obstacles and dune vegetation. They will delight both occasional amateurs and more seasoned players: the latter will discover a fairly technical course, thanks to its narrow configuration with a slope of 140 (from the white tees) for men and 144 for women.
Open all year round, the golf course covers some 30 hectares.
In addition to its 9-hole sanctioned course, it also boasts two putting greens, a 9-hole compact course (day pass from €22 to €28 depending on the season) and a 25-place driving range (equipped with Trackman technology (your swing is assisted by augmented reality)). Individual and group lessons are also available. They are supervised by a state-certified instructor. Training courses are also organized. Twice a week, the compact course is transformed into a Foot-Golf area on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 12:30 to 6:00 pm. (loan of ball, no spiked shoes, knowledge of soccer and golf - Price: €15 for 6h of play)
The Golf Oléron association organizes regular individual and team competitions, runs the golf school and keeps the club alive throughout the year.
A range of attractive packages are available: daily introductory lessons, annual memberships, children's rates, couple's rates...
