Semaine du Climat - Conférence de Fabrice Pernet : « Quel futur pour la pêche et l’aquaculture sur Oléron ? »
Dates & opening times
Description
The island of Oléron, an iconic maritime region, faces major challenges: rising water temperatures, ocean acidification, pressure on fishery resources, and the need to adapt aquaculture practices. In the context of climate change and ecological transition, how can we ensure the sustainability of local fishing and aquaculture sectors?
Fabrice Pernet, a research scientist at Ifremer and a specialist in the physiology of marine organisms, will share his expertise to:
- Analyze the impacts of climate change on the ecosystems of Île d’Oléron (species migrations, habitat changes, etc.).
- Explore innovative solutions for resilient fishing and aquaculture: species diversification, sustainable farming techniques, and stock management.
- Engage with the public on the socioeconomic challenges and future prospects for professionals and consumers.
This conference is part of Climate Week 2026, organized by the Community of Communes of Île d’Oléron.
