Description
Our festival brings together market-garden producers just after the harvest of the famous "saint-turjan" onions.
"This is the perfect time to stock up on this precious bulb for the winter.
You'll find vegetables grown on the island, vegetable seedlings for your
vegetable garden.
Local and regional products will be on offer: eggs, honey, bread, jams,
preserves, cookies, oysters, onion beer, saffron, spirulina, salt, natural wines,
ice creams, crêpes, fried mussels, aromatic and medicinal plants, fresh and
fresh and dried flowers...
A top chef, member of the Académie Nationale de Cuisine, will be on hand
all day long.
He will be offering culinary animations and tastings, with specific themes
every hour or so.
You'll experience a great moment in history when he introduces you to or rediscovers
soubise sauce (a classic of French cuisine) created in the 18th century by
prince Charles de Rohan-soubise (near Rochefort).
With the participation of CPIE Oléron l'ECOPOLE and GEDAR Oléron. The APO of
Saint Trojan will also be present.
If you'd like to sample all these products on site, a picnic area will be available
at your disposal. Don't forget to bring your cutlery, cups and shopping bag.
