Under the direction of Raphaël Merlin, the orchestra will perform two major works: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, followed by Georges Bizet’s Symphony in C major.
Composed when Georges Bizet was only 17 years old, his Symphony in C major already demonstrates remarkable mastery and a distinct musical personality. The work captivates with the freshness of its inspiration, its energy, and the fluidity of its composition.
Half a century apart, Beethoven and Bizet thus reveal two unique musical worlds, united by the same freedom of expression.
