Description

My research is essentially based on the creation of shadows, not painted shadows, but shadows created by superimposing collage elements, which, with the ambient light, can be of different intensity and direction. The materials I often use are Plexiglas, rhodoid, glass and mirror, all of which considerably alter the classic result, creating a surprise for the viewer.

My work is enhanced by light, whether ambient, from the sun, from spotlights or even integrated into the painting (LEDs). It's as if the painting lived by the rhythm of the light, but this light is also symbolic: for me, it conveys hope, mystery, warmth, poetry... and in these anxious times, it is, like shadow, very meaningful.

The themes that inspire me are mainly nature through trees, often stripped for the graphic beauty of their branches, the flight of birds, symbol of freedom, and environmental issues linked to human action, which distress me: deforestation, drought, pollution. All my paintings are framed by a professional framer.
