Description
Discover the history of the Gulf of Saintonge, once a prestigious salt-making site, now the Brouage marshes, thanks to the permanent exhibition entitled "Discovering the ancient kingdom of white gold".
We'll also show you the discoveries made during archaeological digs.
Plus: temporary exhibitions.
Nature and history activities are offered every summer.
Ideally located at the foot of the marshes, an observatory allows you to enjoy the great spectacle of nature without disturbing it. The shallow channels of the marshes attract waders, which live in the mud, and you can observe various species of ducks, lapwings, white stilts, avocets, kingfishers, grey herons, blue throats, curlews, godwits...
