In the village of "Domina", the Mistress, the Madonna, it all begins at the "Villa Fleur de thé": like many of our town's fine homes, this delicately crafted edifice bears witness to the overseas commercial prosperity of enterprising Saint-Georgeais. Following the narrow, winding path of the old streets, we pass by the "Maisons Bloc" or "Maisons à chambre haute", some of them very small, each floor or room having its own access, such as the "souillarde", the outside kitchen. The oldest house in the village is tiny, with its staircase whose railing has been added: in fact, originally it had no railing to provide better protection against night-time intruders. After a flower-filled square where a chair has been placed under a small palm tree, let's discover the famous "Maisonnette des trois Ours", with its closely interwoven housing modules.
