Descriptif

A blend of traditional houses and seaside influences, the typical villages of Domino and Chaucre exude a very special charm that makes for a very pleasant stroll.

Leaving from Domino, a small village nestled behind its dune, savor the village's seaside atmosphere.

Tiny, hidden alleyways add to the village's charm, including the venelle Traversière, a shady little path that weaves its way between houses and gardens before joining rue Pasteur, close to the market.

Stroll along the lanes of the Four and Vieux Puits, where exterior staircases and white facades seem to preserve the memory of the old whitewashed walls.

Two kilometers to the north, the trail takes you to Chaucre, a typical village in the north of the island with many architectural curiosities, including wells and wine cellars with horizontal windows for transferring grapes into the cellars. Its narrow streets are full of charm.

One of the village's curiosities is its famous 19th-century bread oven. It is one of the few public ovens still in operation on the island.

The walk continues towards the charming sandy beach of Chaucre. Its location and unobstructed view of the Chassiron lighthouse make it an attractive and authentic spot.

Follow the narrow path through the forest from Chaucre to Domino to reach the Domino beaches. Here, the foreshore is mainly rocky, but also sandy in places. This makes it more suitable for fishing than swimming. You'll find limpets, oysters, mussels, periwinkles...
