Moulin des Loges
Descriptif
Le Moulin des Loges is a tide mill, build probably in the XVIIIth century. It is located in the marshes of the river Seudre estuary and not far from the ocean. As the tide comes in, it enters the mill pond where it will be stored. When the tide is low enough, the water can be released to turn a water wheel, activating grinding stones, which grind corn between them into flour. Le Moulin des Loges is still functional and can be visited to this day.
