La Forge Prison

The Forge Prison was one of the main buildings constructed when Cardinal de Richelieu became governor of the Cité.
Forge Prison

Descriptif

Like the Royal Forge, the Prison Forge was used to manufacture horseshoes and small metal parts for merchant ships. It was converted into a prison in the late 17th century. Inscriptions from this period can still be seen on some of the stones.

La Forge Prison is an art exhibition venue from April to September.
