Balade contée au Port de La Cotinière
Dates & opening times
Descriptif
Dive into the heart of this ancestral trade: the history of the port (from its natural shelter 250 years ago, to the construction of the third "deep-water" basin) and the history of fishing (oars, sails then motors, hemp nets to selective trawls) will be recounted. Discover the fleet of around 100 boats and 300 sailors, the difficulties and dangers of the seafaring trades, fishing techniques (trawls and traps, lines and nets), selectivity, species and regulations. From "La Cotinarde", the doyenne in her sixties, to the 20-meter-long "Outsider", via "Le Patron Louis Blanchard", the current lifeboat, this guided tour will give you an insight into the daily lives of sailors, fishmongers and lifeguards...
Come and meet these salty faces, ashore between two tides!
