WHAT IS "ULARIUS"?

It's the first name given to the island of Oleron. It was first mentioned by the Roman historian Pliny the Elder in the 1st century. At the time, a Roman castrum

(fortified camp) was erected on the site of today's Citadelle du Château-d'Oléron. Then, through confusion and extension, this name was attributed to the whole island.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

SUR LES TRACES D'ULARIUS adventure rallies are open to everyone: families with children aged 4 and over, teenagers and

adults.

You don't have to be a great sportsman to take part. You'll be able to put many other talents to good use: cooperation, ingenuity, orientation,

etc. However, you must not have any medical contraindications to physical activity.

Minors must be accompanied by at least one adult.

OUR ADVENTURE RALLIES

SUR LES TRACES D'ULARIUS adventure rallies are played in teams of 2, 3 or 4 participants. A game session can accommodate up to 8 teams.

A Game Master is present throughout the adventure rallies to lead the quizzes, supervise the tests and deliver the riddles that will enable you to reach the various stages.

Rallye des P'tits Drôles* :

Take part in a family treasure hunt that will awaken the senses of budding adventurers.

- Ages 4 and up

- A choice of 4 1 km routes in 5 stages: Pointe de Chassiron, Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, Le Château d'Oléron and Plage de Gatseau

- Duration: approx. 1h15

Rallye des Drôles* :

Solve as many riddles as possible and challenge the Game Master to find the treasure chest.

- Ages 8 and up (younger children can join a team, but this adventure rally is not intended for them).

- 4 routes of 3.5 km in 10 stages: Pointe de Chassiron, Saint-Georges-d'Oléron, Dolus-d'Oléron and Plage de Gatseau

- Duration: approx. 2h00

Pedestrian Rally :

Stroll through the town center of a commune on the Ile d'Oléron during an urban rally... but not too urban.

- From 12 years

- A choice of 4 routes of around 5 km in 3 stages: Saint-Denis-d'Oléron, Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, Le Château-d'Oléron and Saint-Trojan-les-Bains;

- Duration: approx. 3h00

Rallye Vélo :

Take advantage of the 150 km of cycle paths on the island of Oléron to appreciate its diversity.

- For ages 14 and up

- A choice of 4 routes from 20km to 30km in 4 stages: North (departing from La Brée-les-Bains), East (departing from Boyardville), West (departing from

La Cotinière) and South (from Grand-Village-Plage).

- Duration: between 4h00 and 4h30

Hitchhiking Rally :

Ready, set, go! Experience the ultimate adventure with this Pékin Express-inspired treasure hunt!

Olympiads :

Compose your own game from a wide choice of events and try to find the treasure chest.

HOW TO TAKE PART IN A PUBLIC SESSION?

- Form a team of 2, 3 or 4 participants, including at least one adult;

- Consult the schedule of public sessions (during school vacations from April to November) onlestracesdularius.fr (tab

"schedule" tab), on social networks or in the Tourist Office Events Diary;

- Choose an adventure rally from those on offer;

- Book directly onlestracesdularius.fr ("book" tab).

AND FOR GROUPS?

All year round, book a private adventure rally for groups of 6 or more divided into 3 teams, and choose your route, date and time slot.

Each session can accommodate up to 32 participants (8 teams of 4).

For larger groups of between 33 and 64 participants, it is possible to adapt the adventure rallies by dividing the participants into 2 groups and

with delayed departures. The duration of the walking and cycling rallies is then extended by 30 to 45 min.

EQUIPMENT TO BRING :

Before you set off, we strongly recommend that you check the weather forecast and equip yourself accordingly. In all cases, bring :

- Closed-toe shoes,

- casual clothing,

- a cap or hat,

- a backpack,

- a water bottle (if you don't have one, the Game Master can lend you one while stocks last),

- a snack such as cereal bars, fruit, etc.

For the bike rally :

- a bike and a steering wheel lock. Wearing a helmet is also recommended.

If you don't have a bike, you can rent one from a specialized rental company in the town or village where the adventure rally starts.
