Description

Marcelle Tinayre (1870-1948), a contemporary of Pierre Loti (with whom she fell out), is the author of some forty books, lectures around the world and numerous press articles, notably on women's rights. She co-founded the Prix Fémina. Between literary successes and press scandals, she was forgotten by the general public. She left admirable pages on the landscapes and life on the island of Oléron. Her books have been republished in recent years, and one of her texts is now on the Brevet des collèges syllabus alongside Maupassant and Zola. It's time to rediscover her!
