A child of the 70s, Martial Martiniaux has a passion for the Image. His influences lie in comics and music, as well as in the raw expression of the Breton painters of yesteryear; Brittany, his adopted region. He has lived in Rennes since he was a teenager, and has been offering his paintings to the public since 2008. Martial Martiniaux's acrylic paintings, with their pop accents, offer an aesthetic vision of the modern world, without judgment or discourse. He traces an ephemeral poetry of everyday life, revealing an invisible history, shaped by a sharp graphic eye that is both sensitive and lucid. Flat tints of color set the mood for the spaces he depicts, whether urban, maritime or more intimate. The precise, meticulous line sculpts a virtual image, sometimes abstract, out of a memory, a promised dream that will perhaps come true in the eye of the beholder!
