Description

Escapes

In a small village in Charente, the impoverished Vinet family longs for fame. To help Riko Vinet pay off his debt, the mobster Dada Macpeltier proposes a forced marriage between her sister and her son, Zack Vinet. For old Labrousse, this is an opportunity to make a fortune by hosting the wedding at his cabaret.

The elders are in charge, the parents are chasing after the inheritance, and the grandchildren do as they’re told.

Amid all this chaos, Zack and Ida—who are secretly in love—will try to escape.

*Les échappées* is an empowering reimagining of Kusturica’s film *Black Cat, White Cat*, set to the music of *Carmen*. A collective production performed outdoors by eleven artists—musical and festive, accessible to young and old alike.
