It's a common misconception that the Francophonie in Lebanon is the result of the French Mandate (1920-1943). Wrongly, since it goes back several centuries. It has forged a particular cultural identity, unique among all the countries that share the French language. Come and discover the mysteries of this centuries-old history, whose traces are still vivid in the Lebanese dialect, and which is the ideal literary vehicle for recounting the pain of war and communitarianism. And if you wanted to tell the story of a country, you could only tell your own story... and in French.
