A painter since his teens, Yves Martinet likes to bring out the warm colors in shades of gray. Backgrounds are painted with flat brushes to create nuanced backgrounds, over which subjects are worked with knives to give them greater relief. Yves Martinet is passionate about his favorite flower, the poppy, which he strives to sublimate. His secret touch gives his flowers a glazed appearance. His creations are accompanied by poetic texts guiding visitors into his world.
