Description

Two great artists will perform the finest works of the violin and organ repertoire: on the organ, Emmanuelle Piaud, head of the cultural department of the town of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, where she is director of the conservatory and media library. A choral conductor and organ teacher, she enjoys a concert career in France and Europe. In 2020, she was awarded the Prix Royan Atlantique by the Académie de Saintonge. On violin, you'll hear Frédéric Ammann Chanel, violinist with the Reims opera. Extremely curious, he adds to his mastery of the classical repertoire an exploration of traditional music, oriental music and gypsy jazz. He has also written numerous arrangements for choirs and chamber ensembles. Working together for over twenty years on stages in France and abroad, they passionately explore the original repertoire for violin and organ, while offering transcriptions of works written for violin and orchestra. In this exceptional concert, you'll hear J.S. Bach's Chaconne in D minor adapted by Mendelssohn, the Chaconne for organ BWV 1179 by the same composer, and three Schübler chorales transcribed for violin and organ. You'll travel to Spain with Pablo Sarasate and his Romance andalouse, then to Italy with Tomaso Vitali and his Chaconne, and on to Austria with Fritz Kreisler, who will have you dancing with his famous "Schön Rosemarin"... and many more surprises, concocted by these two great enthusiasts.
