Conference: Towards an all-electric future? Why and how?

Cédric Philibert, energy and climate expert, former ministerial advisor and member of the International Energy Agency (IEA), will enlighten us on our future towards all-electricity in the face of current climate challenges.
Conférence : Vers un avenir tout électrique ? Pourquoi et comment ?

Dates & opening times

Open the thursday 26/03/2026 as of 18:30 to 20:00

Description

In the face of climate change, it is essential for our societies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to mitigate the current phenomenon. This will be possible by: - Reducing our energy consumption through energy-saving measures, - Replacing high-carbon fossil fuels (coal, gas, oil) as far as possible with decarbonized energies (sun, wind, etc.). This shift towards more decarbonized energy implies massively electrifying our transport, building heating and industrial processes. But is such a transition possible? What technologies are available? All these questions will be answered by Cédric Philibert, a specialist in decarbonization policies who worked for twenty years at the International Energy Agency (IEA) and is a former ministerial advisor. Author of numerous scientific works, the latest of which was published in October 2025, he will discuss the solutions he believes renewable energies and electrification represent to the challenges of climate change and energy sovereignty.
