Description
Created in 2016, the "Charente-Maritime Ukraine" association, is one of the 10 local branches of the national association "Les Joyeux Petits Souliers". The missions are both cultural and humanitarian: ● Cultural, by organizing the tours of Les Joyeux petits Souliers in France, you will be bathed in Ukrainian culture throughout the shows and concerts.
● Humanitarian: all the branches are working alongside the national association to help children affected by the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, providing financial support for the Lviv pediatric hospital, three orphanages, a retirement home, orphans released from their homes, and families in need, welcoming children on summer vacations with French families, setting up sponsorships and running the dance school in Lviv.
Les Joyeux Petits Souliers" is the name of the dance school in Lviv, Ukraine, 80 km from the Polish border.
The national association was founded in 1993 by Jean-Claude Darrigaud, a working priest on France 2, who crossed paths with Mariya and Volodiya Chmyr, the school's choreographers. 450 children aged from 3 to 25 have been training with rigor, enthusiasm and originality for over 30 years. Every year, in spring and autumn, the 40-strong troupe travels to France accompanied by the "Orpheus" men's choir, a vocal ensemble made up of 8 male voices a cappella.
The original choreographies, enhanced by shimmering costumes made by the parents of the little dancers, enchant the French public every year and introduce you to Ukrainian traditions. Tickets at tourist offices
