Art exhibition: The sky, the sun and the sea
Dates & opening times
Description
Annie Lamblin expresses herself in two artistic forms: stone sculptures (blue stone, known as "Soignies", marble from Boulonnais and white stone from Saintonge) and paintings (oil on canvas). Annie Lamblin divides her time between Marennes and Mont des Cats, in the Nord department of France. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Lille, followed by several years teaching plastic arts in Morbihan, she has devoted herself entirely to painting and sculpture since 1982. Born in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Annie Lamblin grew up in a maritime environment that still influences her work today. Seaside landscapes, light, natural materials and elements such as water, sand and stone are at the heart of her artistic approach. Her work consists of observing nature and offering a personal interpretation of it through painting and sculpture. She seeks to simplify forms and highlight volumes, lines and colors. Her works reflect her view of the world and her attachment to coastal landscapes, using soft, luminous colors. Her sculptures, created in stone, wood or clay, explore the links between human beings, maternity, emotional relationships or moments of calm and introspection. Over the years, she has worked with different materials: first the bluestone and marble of her native region, then the white limestone of the Charentes region, which she now uses in her sculptures.
