Description

My paintings are essentially inspired by the landscapes of the Charente coastline, with its emblematic fishing carrelets, oyster huts, lighthouses and islands that have forged the history and heritage of the Charente-Maritime region.

As I wander the length and breadth of the region, I like to highlight the typical scenes that perpetuate regional culture, whether inland, by the sea or along the channels: fishermen on foot, salt marsh farmers, oyster farmers and fishmongers all come to life under my brush.

Fauna and flora are also a source of inspiration: the famous hollyhocks, wading birds, or even donkeys on the Ile de Ré... Another facet of my work lies in abstract works in which I let my imagination roam. Ideas flow, jostling each other so that shapes and colors are transposed onto the canvas, associating movement and light.
