Terra Aventura sur l'île d'Oléron et Brouage

Terra Aventura

Are you a fan of treasure hunts? You’ll be sure to learn some surprising things about the local area by taking part in Terra Aventura, a geocaching challenge that will keep you on your toes! Terra Aventura is a game that combines walking and a chance to discover the region’s rich built and natural heritage. You can set off on your adventure from Brouage, St-Trojan-les-Bains or St-Denuis d'Oléron. What’s more, it’s completely free and can be enjoyed whatever the time of year. Young and old alike are sure to love this incredible quest!

On the hunt for the Poï’z!

All along your itinerary there are treasures to find. But to succeed, you’ll have to solve the many riddles along the way, riddles containing surprises galore and often a dose of good humour too. Inside the treasure caches hide Poï’z, little characters with big personalities, which you have to collect (in the form of a badge). These fantastical little creatures will reveal the theme of your itinerary: Zéfaim for food and drink, Zouti for arts and crafts, Zilex, for the prehistoric era and Zéroïk for the Middle Ages…

With the help of a smart phone or GPS receiver, get ready to set off on an adventure and explore the different itineraries on the île d'Oléron and in the bassin de Marennes: the walled town of Brouage, Saint-Denis d'Oléron and Saint-Trojan-les-Bains!

Terra Aventura à Saint-Denis d'Oléron

Download the app and you’re good to go...

To play Terra Aventura, it couldn’t be more simple. You just need access to a smart phone:

  • Download the app from www.terra-aventura.fr (there is free wifi in all Marennes Oléron tourist offices)
  • Choose your itinerary: The stone star in Brouage (theme: Know-how), Lost in Oléron in Saint-Denis d'Oléron (theme: Island) or The artists’z little train (theme: Arts)
  • Find your location on the map using the app and reply to the riddles you’re set, enabling you to proceed to the next stage.
  • When you have the last set of coordinates, they will lead you to the cache. Don’t draw attention to yourself, leave the area around it as you found it, take no more than one poï’z per person, leave a small item in exchange, write a note in the logbook, look at the mystery word written in the logbook and put the cache back where you found it. If the box meant to contain the cache is empty, let the tourist office know as soon as possible!
