Description

Access to the CITA'Livres book fair is free, and is designed to provide the means to discover, imagine and learn. The aim is to develop reading in all its forms and for all audiences.

- In all its forms: while the novel is the preferred medium, poetry has its place, as well as graphic novels, comic strips and productions combining photos, texts and pictorial productions.

- For all audiences: particular attention is paid to works aimed at children and young people, as well as to local or near-regional authors whom the association seeks to promote by facilitating the distribution of their works. One guiding principle is to make reading a meeting place for children and their parents. An ambitious goal is to help parents regulate their children's consumption of screen time.

Conferences and interviews with well-known authors are a key feature of the show. These authors are invited to create a "cultural synergy" with regional creators, who then benefit from the presence of a curious and attentive public. The aim is to create an emotional bond, an emotion that encourages people to read an author's work in all its "verticality".

The fair also seeks to promote an author at the start of his or her career, or a piece of writing of particular interest in the local context. This "coup de cœur" CITA'livres is, however, a little difficult to maintain on an annual basis.
