"This is the story of a large family in the 1960s. A father who was, to say the least, a bipolar military doctor, and a mother who was polyamorous, prolific, and sometimes solved money problems with remarkable casualness. Flore Lefebvre des Noëttes recounts her childhood, the laughter, the fears, the games, the house by the sea and her grandmother's pastel softness. A tale that takes on the giant form of a fairy tale." (Les Solitaires Intempestifs)
Premiered in Amiens at the Comédie de Picardie in February 2015, with and staged by the author. Played at the Avignon Festival and the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris, "la Mate" was praised by Armelle Héliot of Le Figaro: "The actress is immense. A great, expressive clown, a sober, profound tragedienne. A moment of pure theater. Magnificent."
