Description
Whatever the subject - landscapes, interiors, still lifes or portraits - I seek to bring out the different effects of light in my canvases, following the example of the painters who laid the foundations of modern painting and marked the history of art in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The distinctive feature of my work is a spontaneous, lively pictorial technique that favours working on the motif, including landscapes painted outdoors, as I like to confront the vagaries of the elements outside, fighting against the speed of changing skies, tidal movements and the variations in shadows that evolve with the sun's course.
