Musical Tuesdays #7 - VERGER CAVALIÉ
Dates & opening times
Description
Guilhem Verger breathes warm air from the lungs of his accordion, with an ever-renewed harmonic and rhythmic inventiveness. Laurent Cavalié's poetry is nourished by the stories and lives of the people of his Languedoc world, open to all the winds of the world. His percussion, a large drum known in his homeland as the Bombe du Lauragais, hammers away at our age-old imaginations. Together, they build a powerful yet delicate groove, in the service of chiselled poetry and great musical freedom. Their world is at once dreamlike, libertarian, nourished by the realities of struggles against all forms of domination, and steeped in the ancient culture of their people.
