Descriptif
Patrice MOLINE, born in Bordeaux in 1961, is a self-taught artist whose passion for drawing goes back to his earliest years. It was in his late teens that he gradually abandoned this activity in favor of other hobbies, and later because of compulsory military duty. His family and professional life eventually pushed him further away from this passion, which had somehow been buried deep in his memory, until 2015, when he finally rediscovered the pleasure of sketching. Encouraged by his family and friends, he gradually improved and affirmed his line, favoring hyperrealism and creating his first portraits of film actors and other celebrities. Today, his drawings in graphite pencil and white crayon on black paper depict the reflection of our times with humor and lightness. His watercolor drawings, in the style of a travel diary, show the most beautiful sites and landscapes of the Oleron region. For some years now, Patrice MOLINE has also been practicing wood sculpture in a rather figurative style. In particular, he runs a sculpture course every Thursday for the SATA (Société Arts Talence Aquitaine) at the Orangerie du Château de Thouars in Talence (33400). Writing is one of his new passions, and over the last five years he has published four novels, two in the science-fiction category and two in the detective genre. A few copies of his latest novel will be available to the public during the exhibition.
