Descriptif

Jules Fournier and his wife Esilda Raoulx, wealthy landowners with a number of vineyards, had it built from a catalog model - a novelty for the time!

It is said to have cost 200,000 gold francs. Legend has it that a gold coin was placed under one of the towers.

It is also said that Jules Fournier's fortune came not only from money made from vineyards, but also from shipwrecks on the west coast, which were common at the time...

The building is built on a classic U-shaped plan, with 4 levels.

It is flanked by ashlar corner towers with conical roofs. The rest of the building is of rendered rubble stone, with a hipped gable roof.

The château now houses a retirement home.

Not open to the public.
