La Saurine salt granary
Description
Located in the heart of the Ile d'Oléron, in a protected area home to exceptional flora and fauna, Le Grenier à sel saw the white gold begin to form once again in 2011, after several decades of inactivity.
The handmade, artisanal harvest we practice is the fruit of age-old know-how that respects both man and the environment, and the alchemy of wind, sun and ocean. With this in mind, Grenier à sel offers you raw, harvested salt that is neither washed nor treated, naturally dried, and topped up with organic spices and aromatics.
In the same spirit, we have developed our Pasta IØ pasta, produced in our workshop on the island of Oléron, with durum wheat semolina from the Charentes region.
The direct sales hut on the marsh is open from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm, Tuesday to Saturday, from 05/04 to 04/07 and from 06/09 to 30/09, as well as during the All Saints' vacations, weather permitting.
In summer, we welcome you from Monday to Saturday: 05/07 to 31/08.
From June 1, 2022, you can visit a marsh by going exclusively to the Ileau marsh between Notre Dame en l'Isle and the port of Le Douhet: €2.50/person and free for children under 10.
Accessible by bike or car.
