Descriptif

The Château de Bonnemie stands in a beautiful park in Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, where ponds and dense vegetation mingle.

In 1086, the seigneury of Bonnemie already existed, and was the most important in Oléron. Its income came from the salt and wine harvested from its fiefs.

Most of the present château was rebuilt in 1694, resulting in a vast central hall, outbuildings and a large portal dating from 1700. There are 4 towers: the large central tower, the clock tower, the water tank tower and the chapel tower.
