Description
Anne Nguyen continues her exploration of the relationship between urban dance and society by questioning the links between the roots of dance, music and the heritage of the Afro-American diaspora. This solo recounts the body's memory of its migratory journey, and how the traces of its culture live on. This journey between rhythms, eras and gestures is carried by song and embodied by an urban and traditional African dancer. His contemporary journey, combined with his Afro-American heritage, reveals the resurgence of ancestral social dance practices. An invitation to reflect on our relationship with immigrant cultures, at a time of globalization-related tensions between cosmopolitanism and multiculturalism.
