Descriptif

To discover the wild, unspoilt salt marshes, it's best to take the small, winding roads, especially from Saint-Pierre d'Oléron.

The route de l'Eguille is a good example of how to explore these vast, almost geometrically-shaped marshes. This road is almost deserted, so it's best to take it on foot or by bike.

This is where the heart of Oléron beats, raw and wild!

Egrets, goldeneyes, brant, reed and grey harriers, waders, turtle doves, white-mirrored blue throats and swans are just some of the bird species you'll discover on the hummocks of the old salt marshes...

This route will take you to one of the most beautiful oyster-farming sites on the Ile d'Oléron... Fort Royer!
