plage de chaucre

Descriptif

A charming sandy beach on the north-western tip of Ile d'Oleron, sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and wild dunes. Its location and unobstructed view of the Chassiron lighthouse make it a seductive, authentic spot that's equally suited to lounging and gliding. At low tide, the beach has both a rocky and a sandy area.

There's also a diving and surfing school.

Chaucre beach is supervised every day in summer, and is marked by red and yellow rectangular flags.

Bicycle and parking lots and summer shuttle bus stop nearby in season.

Pets are not allowed on the beach from 15/06 to 15/09 from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm. Please refer to the municipal by-law posted at the beach entrance.
