Cycle paths

Oléron Island and the Marennes Basin possess numerous cycling itineraries. A network of 100 miles spreading amidst marshes, forests and running along the sea. This waymarked cycle network makes it easy to find your way around and admire the multifaceted landscape at your own pace. There are lots of picnic areas conveniently located alongside the tracks.

You can ride all the way to the lighthouse in Saint-Denis, Le Phare de Chassiron, without setting foot on the ground, pedal through the Saumonards forest at Boyardville or discover the marshes around the Château d'Oléron in the south of the island.

Whether you are a novice rider or a keen cyclist you will enjoy a ride in this hill-free area. There are several recommended cycle paths. In fact, the Ile d’Oléron and the Marennes basin between them have a very large network of cycle paths suitable for everyone. Our network grows every year since the sport is such a favourite of holiday-makers and islanders alike.
