Famille à la plageMarennes-Oléron's coastline stretches over 100km and boasts numerous beaches. These diverse beaches commonly share a high quality sea water, the beaches of Grand-Village, Saint-Trojan-les-Bains, Dolus d'Oléron, and Saint-Denis d'Oléron bear the Blue Label. Constant efforts are made towards maintening the environement, waste management and making sure vistors enjoy pristine beaches.

Cabanes sur la plageThe very long West coast beach runs almost all the way from North to South. Thus, from Saint-Trojan-les-Bains to Vert-Bois, the beaches of Grande plage, Giraudière, Allassins and Vert-Bois are connected. With fine white sand, small dunes and waves when the tide is rising, these immense beaches are perfect for water sports and sliding sports or for a relaxing session of "farniente ". If you want to be on your own, walk for a few minutes to find peace and quiet.

A bit further North, next to the Remigeasse, a family beach, you will find Sables Vigner Beach, Domino de Chaucre Beach and Huttes Beach, an infamous surfing spot.

On the East coast, behind the sandy headland, you can find a calmer sea and fine sand at La Brée-les-Bains Beach and Saumonards Beach in Boyardville.

Retour de la plageAt the furthest point South of the island, Gatseau Beach which is bordered by a forest is a haven of tranquility. However, swimmers should be aware of the inshore strong currents.

As for the basin, the pleasant Marennes Beach is great for all generations as it provides family orientated activities.
